Forex trading with the greenbackThe U.S. dollar is struggling a bit in currency trading on the FX market this morning. In forex trading, the greenback is still being affected by oil prices. The dollar was up against the euro in FX trading earlier, but has since pared its gains.
Indeed, that is one of the stories this morning as Gustav moves inexorably toward the Gulf of Mexico, expected to make its appearance in the Gulf sometime Monday or Tuesday.

Sterling in FX tradingThe U.K. pound is falling in forex trading this morning, overall, although it has been stopped from its steep declines of earlier. The sterling is pulling up in FX trading, just below $1.85.
However, it is important to note that the still-precaurious position of the British economy is likely to continue to mean problems for the U.K. pound in forex trading on the currency market, possibly even leading the currency below $1.83.

Loonie making progress in forex tradingThe Canadian dollar is gaining again in currency trading on the FX market. After dropping a bit against the US dollar, the loonie began heading up again in forex trading yesterday.
Today, the trend continues for the Canadian dollar in FX trading as retail sales data makes a strong showing. Indeed, this data is a sign of a stable economy, and that is helping support the loonie in forex trading, even as economic worries continue to plague the United States.
